Career Prospect - Economics

In our Career Tuesday in cooperation with WiSo-Alumni, you will find out how former economics graduates got into professional life, which challenges they have mastered and which further professional perspectives have opened up on the way there. You will be shown perspectives from the areas of microsimulation, econometrics, change management, analytics and data science and have the opportunity to network so that you can better orientate yourself on your career path.

 

Dr. Susanna Grundmann: has been working as a consultant in the Ministry of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia since the summer of 2023. Among other things, she deals with topics in the areas of the Stability Council, EU fiscal rules and sustainability. In the previous three years she worked as a postdoc at the University of Cologne. During this time she researched and taught on topics in experimental and behavioral economics. She also completed her doctorate in this area at the University of Passau and her doctoral thesis focused primarily on questions of honesty and reciprocity. During her bachelor's degree in political science and her master's degree in economics at the University of Passau, she also completed a semester abroad in Spain and internships in Berlin and Brussels.

Niklas Schröder: Double M.Sc. in Economics, possesses a keen interest in qualitative and quantitative aspects of public economics, economics of education, labor economics, and inequality. His expertise extends to equity-efficiency trade-offs, race & gender inequality, optimal income taxation, and provision of public goods. With a strong background in financial markets, financial regulation, and development banking, he currently contributes his skills to the Capital Markets unit of the German development bank DEG, a subsidiary of KfW. His focus areas include bond structuring and issuance, refinancing, and local currency loan provision.
