QS World University Ranking

The QS World University Ranking compares 1,500 universities. Four major areas of interest for prospective students are assessed: Research, teaching, employability and international orientation. These four key areas are assessed on the basis of nine indicators, each with different weights.

The QS World University Ranking 2024 was published in 2023 and analysis data from the time period 2017 - 2022. The University of Cologne was able to improve by 67 places in the current QS World University Ranking and is among the top 18 percent worldwide. In addition, the QS rankings publishes rankings for 54 subjects in five broad subject areas.

QS World University Ranking by subject

The current QS World University Ranking by Subject 2023 was published in 2022 and refers to data from 2016-2021. It is based on five indicators*:

  • Academic reputation (50%),
  • employer reputation (30%),
  • researcher citations per paper (7,5%),
  • H-index (7,5%) and
  • international reseach network (5%).

QS Business Master's Rankings - Management

The QS "Business Master's Ranking: Management" highlights the best Master's in Management programmes worldwide. A total of 13 criteria form the basis for the five key indicators: "Employability", "Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes", "Return on Investment", "Thought Leadership" and "Class and Faculty Diversity".

The Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) of the global CEMS alliance of leading business schools, multinational companies and NGOs is ranked 11th out of 201 in the current QS 2024 Masters in Management (MiM) ranking and thus belongs to the best 5.4% worldwide: Weblink
