The current Association of Information Systems (AIS) research ranking, based on the number of publications from important international journals (EJIS, ISJ, ISR, JAIS, JMIS, MISQ, JSIS, JIT, DSS, I&M, I&O) in the time period from 2020 to 2024 shows: The Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) at the University of Cologne is ranked first in Germany and fourth in Europe, making it one of the leading research institutions in the field of information systems. CIIS at the University of Cologne is ranked 46th worldwide, together with the Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), the HEC Montreal (Canada), the Nanjing University (China) and the University of Auckland (New Zealand).
