Supporting early career researchers is a key priority for the WiSo Faculty and the University of Cologne. Strong framework conditions for PhD students have been created by the targeted development and expansion of structured PhD training opportunities. The Cologne Graduate School in Management, Economics and Social Sciences (CGS) unites all of the doctoral students of the WiSo Faculty under a single roof. A wide range of networking and further education services for post-docs offers targeted support in furthering their scientific development.

"My idea is to face the world with its challenges and find ways to have a positive impact."

Lena,
Student of B.Sc. Management, Economics and Social Sciences

As part of the university-wide Institutional Strategy, the foundation of the Albertus Magnus Center (AMC) has brought together the various support structures for graduate students. As well as offering assistance to PhD students, supporting post-doctoral researchers on their journey to scientific independence is a high priority for the UoC.
