Erasmus+ programme for internships

An international internship offers practical experience and a unique cultural immersion. It lets you build work and management skills, develop intercultural abilities, and expand your professional network—boosting both personal and career growth. Plus, international experience is increasingly valued by employers and can strengthen job applications.

The ERASMUS+ programme provides funding for internships in Europe within the framework of the EU Programme for Lifelong Learning. If you are planning to do an internship abroad in a country within the ERASMUS network, you may qualify for financial support through the ERASMUS+ programme, even if you have already received ERASMUS+ funding for studies abroad. Please contact the ZIB WiSo Outgoings Team (outgoings(at)wiso.uni-koeln.de) as soon as you have arranged your internship, no later than the respective deadlines below. We will advise you whether your internship is suitable for ERASMUS+ funding and guide you through the process.

PLEASE NOTE: Currently we are only accepting new applications for Erasmus+ funding for internships, starting after 01 October 2026

If you plan to do an internship in a non-European country, you may qualify for a PROMOS grant.
