1) How do I know, in which enrolment period I can register for my courses?
A file in which the current courses and the correct enrolment periods are listed, you can find here. Besides, on KLIPS you can find the information in the green description under the information on the registration side.
Please note, that the listed dates on this side are refering to the general allocation period, but not to the particular course. If the course is open for registration you can identify that by the red cross (not allocable) or the green tick (allocable) next to the date.
2) I cannot register for a course. What can I do?
Some courses are offered in a certain rhythm. At first please take a look in the module handbook/manual that applies to your study program in order to check whether a course is actually supposed to be offered in the current term. Additionally, above you can find an overview about all the WiSo courses of a given term including the applicable enrolment periods. Should there be a course that is not offered or that you cannot register for despite the fact that it should be, please contact us (klips-wiso[at]uni-koeln.de).
3) I did not get a place in a tutorial. What can I do?
Please use the enrolment period of the remaining places (Restplatzvergabe) in which free places will be allocated according to the „First Come, First Serve“-Principle. Please note that the probability to get a fixed place in a tutorial group increases if you register for enrolment in as many groups as possible and if you subsequently prioritize them.
4) I do not want to participate in a given group (e.g. tutorial) and want to have a place in another group. What can I do?
Please deregister from your assigned place and subsequently register for a place in a group that still has free capacities available. Please do so during the allocation period of the remaining places (Restplatzvergabe).
5) In my study structure I can no longer see all the modules that are relevant in my study program. What has happened?
In this case it is very likely that you fixed your choice of modules in a given study area, either by registering for an exam or by clicking on the “W” choice box. If you want to annul your choice you have to contact the WiSo examination office which is eventually able to annul your choice after carefully examining the facts at hand. 6) I inadvertently checked the „W“ choice box. What are the consequences?

7) Before the official release of the allocation results I was able to find a course in my calendar in KLIPS 2.0. Now it is gone. What has happened?
If you set your calendar settings in such a way that all dates of all your course applications (Belegwünsche) appear, you may get the impression that you have received a fixed place in a given course even though you are still on the application list. Please do not be surprised if the information available under “Course Registration” may change during the period between the end of the enrolment period and the official release of the allocation results. The support staff effectuates changes during this time period.

Not all features of KLIPS are available on mobile devices. It is therefore advisable NOT to use tablets or smartphones for KLIPS.

The business card holds all information and applications for your studies. To go to your business card, click on your name at the top right of the page.
5) Which applications does KLIPS provide?
KLIPS comprises multiple applications which you can access using the application menu on your business card. To open an application, you simply click on it. An overview of all KLIPS 2.0 applications is available here.
6) Can I change the appearance of KLIPS?
Using the application Personal Settings, you can change, for example, the size of the font, the order of icons etc.
7) Can I change the information in my business card?
By clicking on your name at the top right of the page, you will be directed to your business card. By clicking on "edit", you will be directed to the Editing modus of your business card where you can change or edit your information.
