Reception opening hours: Mon-Thu 9 a.m.-4 p.m. &. Fri 10 a.m.-2 p.m. without an appointment
Tell the receptionist at the WiSo Student Service Point (WiSSPo) about your request. They can often help you directly with brief information.
If your request is too extensive or complex, it will be recorded and a student advisor as the expert will contact you on the relevant topic. Alternatively, you can book an appointment yourself (in person or digitally). To do so, please use the appointment booking links for the corresponding subject areas. The face-to-face advisory sessions all take place centrally at the WiSo Student Service Point.
We offer the following quick services at reception:
Brief information
We can give you brief information on all questions about the WiSo degree programmes and study organisation at the reception desk. However, if the topic is too complex or multi-layered, it makes sense to seek advice from a student advisor. Further information on this can be found in the section "Guidance at WiSo".
Collection of graduation certificates
You did not attend the graduation ceremony during which you should have received your degree certificate? Then we will be happy to hand out your graduation documents to you at the reception desk in the WiSSPo during our opening hours.
- Please bring a valid photo ID with you. Alternatively, you can authorise someone (sample power of attorney).
- We will also be happy to make a certified copy of your certificate for you directly on site, please ask for it then.
- If you would like to have the certificate sent to you by post, read here how to request it. Please note that sending by post is at your own risk. Any final documents that may have been damaged or lost in the post cannot be issued again in the same form. We therefore highly recommend collection on site.
Become a WiSoAlumni member: Registration is possible at http://www.koelnalumni.de. Membership is free of charge. We will keep you up to date with information about your alma mater and your faculty.
Issue of various certificates
Transcript of Records:
- You can create a verified Transcript of Records yourself online using KLIPS. It is a digital signature on the transcript created there.
- You can request positive transcripts with only passed examinations via our contact form. Please indicate whether you would like to receive it digitally to your s-mail address or by post.
- You will automatically receive the final transcript together with the provisional final certificate by post. It is sent to the address stored in KLIPS approximately three weeks after the announcement of the last grade.
In addition, you can download a digitally signed, valid version of the (1) provisional degree certificate and (2) degree transcript from your student file in KLIPS yourself.
If you no longer have a valid s-mail account and still need a sealed transcript, please continue to order this with an informal, written request and enclose a copy of your ID card. The application must be signed by hand. You can send both as PDF attachments via our contact form.
Ranking certificate:
Current ranking:
- Request by mail: Please order the current ranking (information here) online via our contact form. The document will then be sent to you either by post to the address stored in KLIPS or by e-mail to your s-mail address. When ordering by mail, please indicate how you would like to receive the ranking.
- Personal collection: Alternatively, you can also receive a current ranking in person at the reception of WiSo Student Service Point (room 0.305) during opening hours. Prior registration or appointment booking is not necessary.

However, if you receive a form, we will be happy to fill it out for you. Please send us the form as a PDF attachment via our contact form. Please then indicate whether you would like to pick up the form in person at the WiSSPo or whether digital delivery to your s-mail address is sufficient.
Application for a semester of leave due to an internship:
Please send us the application for a semester off due to an internship lasting at least three months in full with all the required documents as a PDF document via the contact form.
