Career prospects economics

In our Career Tuesday in cooperation with WiSo-Alumni, you will find out how former economics graduates got into professional life, which challenges they have mastered and which further professional perspectives have opened up on the way there. You will be shown perspectives from the areas of microsimulation, econometrics, change management, analytics and data science and have the opportunity to network so that you can better orientate yourself on your career path.

 

Our speakers:

Sascha Strobl:
Expert in data analysis, transfer pricing, and corporate taxes. In his current work in the field of microsimulation at the Fraunhofer Institute, he forecasts BAföG expenditures for the federal government and conducts research on non-application despite eligibility. In addition to his strong academic background with a focus on public economics and international taxation, including a semester abroad in France, he also brings with him entry-level experience at EY.

Mark Praet: From the REWE Group to the Fraunhofer Institute - A path that leads from analytics to microsimulation and econometric data analysis. His academic journey, characterized by an economics bachelor's degree and an economics master's degree from the University of Cologne with international stays in Canada and Australia, shows his passion for data. Expertise in design & behavior as well as quantitative methods underline his expertise in the analytical field.

Dr. Tobias Eckernkemper: An excellent academic career leading to a doctorate and thus to an expert in statistics and econometrics. He is currently working as a statistician in the Data Science & Analytics department at CredaRate Solutions GmbH in Cologne. His professional journey includes the development and validation of rating systems in the area of probability of default under the regulatory framework.
