Admission to the examination procedure

The study program can only be started in the study programs according to the examination regulations 2021. Admissions for the study programs according to the examination regulations version 2015 are no longer possible after 30.09.2021.

Information on changing to a higher semester can be found here.

Participation in examinations in the degree programs of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences does not require separate admission. As soon as enrollment has been completed, it is generally possible to register for courses and examinations.

Please note that the enrollment regulations of the University of Cologne dated November 30, 2020 regulate various reasons for failure to enroll. For example, enrollment is to be denied if an examination required by the examination regulations has been definitively failed in the chosen degree program in accordance with the applicable examination regulations at a university within the scope of the German Basic Law. This shall apply mutatis mutandis to courses of study which are substantially similar in content to the previous course of study.

§ 15 (3) of the examination regulations for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs regulates accordingly that in such a case admission to a module examination is to be refused. Even if such an obstacle to admission only becomes known after enrollment in the course of studies, the studies cannot be continued in such a case.

If you have already lost the right to take examinations in a course of study that is close in content to the course of study you have currently chosen, you should therefore clarify in good time before enrollment whether enrollment must be denied on this basis.
