Major - Economics
The Bachelor of Science Economics consists of twelve modules, each worth eight credit points. Two modules are compulsory: ‘Introductory Microeconomics’ and ‘Principles of Macroeconomics’. Students must choose seven out of the remaining ten modules ‘Economic Policy’, ‘Labour Economics’, ‘International Economics’, ‘Monetary Theory and Policy’, ‘The German Economy in the 20th Century’, ‘Industrial Organisation and Competition’, ‘Fiscal Policy’, ‘Introductory Public Economics’, ‘Game Theory and Strategic Thinking’ and ‘Growth and Employment’. The corresponding courses and examinations may be taken every term (with the exception of ‘History of Modern Economics’, which has a different lecture cycle).

1 Prüfungsleistungen dieses Moduls können unter Berücksichtigung des im Modulhandbuch genannten Turnus ab dem Wintersemester 2015/2016 erstmalig abgelegt werden. Die Prüfungsanmeldung ist nicht mehr möglich, wenn zuvor die Prüfung zum Modul "Energy Markets and Regulation" in der Profilgruppe "Energiewirtschaftslehre" erfolgreich absolviert wurde.
Vier volkswirtschaftliche Module setzen Grundzüge der Mikroökonomik als Verständnisgrundlage voraus, sieben Module wiederum Grundzüge der Mikro- und Makroökonomik. Die Voraussetzungen sind nachfolgend einsehbar:
Empfehlungen:
Im Hauptfach VWL sollte also zunächst das Modul Grundzüge der Mikroökonomik absolviert werden und anschließend Grundzüge der Makroökonomik. Zeitgleich zu „Grundzüge der Mikroökonomik“ sollte das Modul „Mathematische Methoden“ aus dem Fach „Methoden und Nachbargebiete“ besucht werden.
