Course of studies

In the basic and advanced sections, the fundamentals of business administration, economics and methods are taught and deepened. In the supplementary section, the foundation from the basic section (business administration and economics) is deepened and supplemented by new fields of social sciences and business informatics. The specialisation section is made up of many elective modules so that in combination with the supplementary section a diverse selection is possible according to your interests or career ideas.

The Studium Integrale promotes competencies that go beyond the actual subject-related studies. To this end, the various faculties of the University of Cologne offer, among other things, subject-specific introductory events, competence training (e.g. EDP or rhetoric), language courses and lecture series on current topics from which you can choose. In the run-up to the Bachelor's thesis, with which you complete your studies, you will take a Bachelor's seminar in which you will be intensively prepared for the scientific and analytical methods to successfully completing the Bachelor's thesis.

From basic knowledge to your personal specialisation

Within the scope of the degree programme, you will gain an overview of all fundamental areas of business administration. Personal interests and professional goals can be pursued through a variety of specialisation options. The broadly diversified supplementary area of expanding business administration modules as well as modules from economics, social sciences and business informatics, in conjunction with the choice of specialisations in various focus areas, enable you to design an individual study plan and thus your specialisation. You can then intensify this in your further education and professional career and thus develop into an expert in your field.

Further details on the structure of the degree programme, as well as study progression recommendations and module descriptions, can be found in the module catalogue.
