What is it about?
In our infosession "WiSSPo 2+ lunch&learn", we give you an overview of exciting topics that usually come up in the course of the Bachelor's degree programme at the WiSo Faculty from the second semester onwards.
After a keynote speech of approx. 20 minutes, you can ask your individual questions in a group setting - you can also benefit from the questions of your fellow students.

Research with gKI (ChatGPT & Co.) – New course of the WiSo Teaching Library
Dear students,
our new course Research with gKI (ChatGPT & Co.) will start in May. Together we will test various AI tools and prompting strategies and discuss their possibilities and limitations in literature research.
We will focus on the following questions:
- What is generative AI (gAI)?
- What are the current guidelines at the University of Cologne?
- What are the challenges of using generative AI?
- How can I use generative AI in my literature research?

ZIB: Summer school offers
KU Leuven Summer School “Europe INSIDE OUT” – Leuven, Belgium
This multidisciplinary summer school by KU Leuven in Belgium is a ten-day programme for graduate students and undergraduate students in their final year, including visits to Brussels and Antwerp.

Charles University Summer School – Prague, Czech Republic
The key objective of the summer school "Conflicts, polarization, and international institutions: the world between the old and new order" in Prague is to understand the reasons for the emergence of conflicts in the contemporary world and the reasons for the current social and political polarization. Accomodation is included in the programme fee.

This summer school is offered by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) and will focus on three topics: culture, business and innovation, combined with culture activities, company visits and weekend trips.

Cologne Summer School in India
Students interested in a short-term exchange program offered by the UoC International Office have the chance to participate in the summer school “Education and Social Straticifation in India” which will take place in Pune, India. The application deadline has been extended to mid May.

STAP secondary selection round for studies abroad in spring 2025
The ZIB Wiso offers a secondary STAP selection round with a reduced list of universities available for a term abroad in spring term 2025. The secondary selection round for bachelor and master students will be open until 15 June 2024 for all applicant groups through the WEX platform.
