Global commitment to Information Systems

WiSo Professor Christoph Rosenkranz becomes Vice President of Education of the AIS.

The members of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) have elected WiSo Professor Christoph Rosenkranz as Vice President of Education. He will take on this important role at the global association for information systems from 1 September 2024.

As a member of the AIS Council, Prof. Rosenkranz will play a key role in the decision-making process of the world's leading professional association for individuals and organisations from research, teaching, practice and study in the field of business informatics and information systems. His particular focus will be on research-orientated teaching and training initiatives.

"I am very honoured to have been elected Vice President of Education of the Association for Information Systems," said Professor Rosenkranz. "This role is not only important to me personally, as I want to give back to my academic community, but also emphasises the Cologne Institute for Information Systems' commitment to advancing global educational standards in the field of information systems. The collaboration with AIS fits perfectly with our commitment at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne to promote research and teaching with an international flavour. As Vice President, I look forward to advancing AIS's mission of addressing societal challenges through innovative educational initiatives and linking academic insights with practical applications. This role provides our institution with a unique platform to make a significant contribution to the global Information System community and increase our visibility and influence in shaping future educational frameworks and research endeavours worldwide."

With a membership of over 4,800 academics spread across 98 countries, the AIS is the leading association for individuals and organisations leading the field of information systems in research, teaching and practice. As an organisation, the AIS is dedicated to the pursuit of innovative solutions to the pressing problems of global society.

Prof Rosenkranz holds the Chair of Information Systems and Integrated Information Systems at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne and is therefore a member of the Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. He also acts as Academic Director of the Bachelor's degree programme in Information Systems. He continuously contributes to the scientific discourse of his department and continues to serve his extensive research interests in the areas of Information Systems Development, Open-Source Software Development, Project and Programme Management, Business Process Management and Electronic Healthcare.
