Workshop with BearingPoint on Agility and subsequent get-together

Are you interested in the "agile world"? Then this Workshop hosted by BearingPoint is just right for you. Agility and agile transformation are currently very popular. But what exactly is behind it? We invite you to have a look with experts from BearingPoint to look at how classic and agile projects differ from each other, how agile methods work and how agility affects the transformation context.

To conclude the event, a get-together is planned where the brewery Päffgen will be visited.

When? On November 03rd, 2022 from 4.00 – 6.00 p.m.

The countdown to the Startup Your Idea Contest is on!

Submit your idea by 9 October! The Gateway Excellence Start-up Center of the University of Cologne and the WiSo Faculty of the University of Cologne, together with the TH Köln, the Sporthochschule and the Rheinische Fachhochschule, will award the best ideas with earmarked prize money of up to 5,000 euros! Coaching, workshops and an exciting final in front of a large audience also await the finalists.

We are looking forward to innovative, creative and forward-looking start-up ideas. It doesn't matter whether your idea relates to a service or a product, or whether it is a non-profit idea or the social use of research results. Convince the jury of experts - a finished business plan is not required!

Last but not least, our grand finale offers you the opportunity to network with exciting partners, investors and experts in one fell swoop - the stage is yours!

Career Week – Impulses, Workshops & JobTour

Exciting offers await you again this semester as part of Career Week!
You will learn what is important when signing your first employment contract, get valuable tips on financial and tax security or have the opportunity to take part in job application or access centre training. In addition, you will get the chance to take a look at three companies directly from the inside as part of the JobTour and get to know employees.

Develop your case study skills and get to know Top Strategy Consulting firms!

We - the case.study.course team - are a student-run association at the University of Cologne. By participating at our sessions which take place every semester, selected students get the opportunity to develop their skills with regards to solving business cases and presenting the results. At the same time, we bring the participants into contact with five highly reputable consulting firms which provide insights about their work, culture, people and application process. This semester, we offer case study sessions with the following consulting firms:

  • Simon Kucher & Partners, 
  • Bayer Strategy & Business Consulting, 
  • Boston Consulting Group, 
  • DHL Consulting and
  • McKinsey & Company 

If you are interested to learn more about the world of consulting or plan to apply at consulting firms in the future, the case study course is a great opportunity for that - regardless of your pursued degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD) or background (e.g. Business or Natural Science)! We are also looking for future board members. As a member of the board, you prepare the respective sessions, are in direct contact with the contact persons of the consulting companies and participate in the internal organization (e.g. applicant management or website).

The application phase Summer Semester ends on Sunday, 16th October 2022.

Since the sessions will take place in Cologne, it is important that you are able to join all sessions in person

Your chance to become a host at the International Week Cologne 2022!

IW Cologne 2022 is cming closer which means it's your time to apply officially as a host for IW!

Being a host during an IW gives you the benefits of participating in many events of our IW and being part of the programme and network! To get more information we would like to invite you to our info session on Friday, 7th October at 6 pm. (PIMS & CEMS CLUB, Zülpicher Str. 28).

Key Facts about IW Cologne:

When: 03.-13. November
Who: Around 15 participants from 8 countries (Japan, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Hunary, Turkey)
What: A broad and interesting programme for 10 days including business, cultural, social and academic events (company visits and workshops, trips, brewery dinner, carinval party, university visit, Pubcrawl and much more!)

Your benefits as a host:

  • Be part of an amazing week
  • Join fun events like our two night cottage trip
  • Gain advantages when applying for an IW abroad
  • Having an international roomate for 10 days
  • Making friends from all over the world

Your responsibilities as a host:

  • provide your guest a mattress or a bed
  • provide a small breakfast (usually not included in the programme)
  • be there for questions during the international Week

To ensure that everyone can participate in an IW regardless their financial situation, every organising committee is keeping the cost as los as possible so that participlants only have to pay for transport to and from the hosting country. Without you as host we could not design such a fun and diverse programme - Thank You!
