Looking to brush up your English skills? We’re still accepting new registrations for “Business English” in the summer semester 2023. Placement test dates are offered until 10 March 2023. If you are looking to develop your communication skills, this could be the ideal course for you!

Courses are open to all WiSo Faculty students. Bachelor students of most study programmes and incoming guest students have the opportunity to gain 6 ECTS within the module Studium Integrale upon successful completion of the course. Master students can take the course as part of their Extracurricular Modules.

It is no longer science fiction: the physical and virtual worlds are increasingly merging and the metaverse is emerging. Developments towards Web 3.0, blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, avatars and a nationwide 5G infrastructure play a major role in this.
 
On 27th February at 13:00, WiSo alumnus Yasar Hanli, Director Digital at L'Oréal, will report on current trends, developments and strategies in the next digital Lunch & Learn edition of WiSoAlumni & KölnAlumni and explain how the metaverse is changing the way we will work in the future.

On 3rd March 2023 at 5 pm the Dialogue Night will take place at the WiSo Faculty of the University of Cologne. Here you will get to know high-ranking entrepreneurs and other ambitious students in a relaxed atmosphere and get the opportunity to expand your network.

The event will start with a panel discussion with entrepreneurs from different fields, among others Andreas Liedtke (Managing Director BCG Switzerland), David Döbele, Dr. Martin Gehring (Simon Kucher) and Prof. Dr. Anja Baethge will participate and the discussion will be moderated by Dr. Christian Poensgen.

After the discussion, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas in small groups at the World Café. At the end of the event you can network with the other participants over dinner and drinks.

A ticket costs 10 €.

The Fempowerment Association is offering together with McKinsey&Company a workshop on the topics Storytelling, Storylining & Influencing followed by a GetTogether.

In the workshop you can learn how to communicate information and values to your audience in a structured, but also interesting and engaging way. Communication is crucial in many situations of everyday work and university life and can contribute significantly to the success of a project or an idea. We are very excited to see what this workshop has in store for all of us!

The workshop will take place on March 30th at the McKinsey Office in Cologne and will be held in German.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to get in contact with McKinsey consultants and to get to know McKinsey better.
