Field trip to LanXess
Overview
LANXESS, a leading specialty chemicals company, currently employs around 15,400 people in 33 countries and has a global presence at 60 production sites. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacture and sale of chemical intermediates, additives, specialty chemicals and plastics.
The company manages its worldwide activities from the Lanxess Tower in Cologne Deutz.
Here we will spend the morning, get to know the company more detailed and in a panel discussion with representatives of the SCM, Experienced Departments Insights among other things.
At lunchtime, we will look forward to WiSo Köln alumnus and board member Rainier van Roessel providing the WiSo student company with lunch together.
Then we will head from Deutz to Leverkusen factory by bus transfer:
Leverkusen is the most important and strongest working production site of LANXESS. More than 3,000 employees in Leverkusen manufacture basic chemicals, precursors and active ingredients for pharmaceuticals and pesticides, paint and varnish raw materials, water purification products, plastic additives and leather chemicals. LANXESS also operates a highly specialized rubber testing center in Leverkusen, a quality test laboratory for detergents and a research and development center for leather products. In state-of-the-art laboratories for research and application technology, LANXESS also develops material protection products that contain or deter harmful microorganisms.

Wednesday, December 4th, 2019
Self-drive to the headquarters of LANXESS - Kennedyplatz 1, 50569 Cologne Deutz (Distance from the Deutz train station about 5 minutes)
9.45 am - Meeting point in front of the Lanxess building with the WiSo Career Service
10.00 am - Welcome and presentation of the participants
10.15 am - Company presentation, Q + A entry opportunities
11.15 am - Panel discussion with representatives of SCM and other areas
12.30 pm - Lunch break with board member and WiSo Alumnus R. v. Roessel
1.30 pm - Bus transfer to Leverkusen for the guided factory tour
3.30 pm - End of the event in Leverkusen then departure home on own initiative from S-Bahn Station Leverkusen
Arriving by car is strongly discouraged. Parking can not be provided in Deutz or Leverkusen and the group will be shuttled together from Deutz to Leverkusen.
