What does luxury mean in a service context?

Research cooperation with Johann Lafer

In the future, Professor Dr. Martin Paul Fritze (Koelnmesse Endowed Chair of Trade Fair Management and Marketing, University of Cologne) will deal with luxury in a service context. With the help of a new research cooperation between the junior professor and the star chef, entrepreneur and cookbook author Johann Lafer, luxury in the service context is to be examined using the example of the catering and hotel industry. Johann Lafer, well-known from numerous cooking shows, will provide the University of Cologne with insights into the practice of a luxury service provider as part of a joint research project.

Research topic and cooperation
This is a research cooperation on the subject of luxury services. The cooperation agreement was concluded on May 30, 2018 during a joint meeting at Johann Lafers Stromburg.

Jun. professor Dr. Martin Paul Fritze is already looking forward to working with Johann Lafer:

"I am very pleased that we were able to win Johann Lafer as a partner for this research project. We want to find out how luxury is perceived when services are used. This glance into practice is a great opportunity for us to understand this better from both the customer's and the company's perspective".
