"Management Information Systems Quarterly (MIS Quarterly)" is one of the leading academic journals in the areas of development, management, use, impact and economics of IT. According to recent journal rankings, MIS Quarterly is one of the two most important international journals in information systems.

We are all the more pleased that now of the five editors from German universities on the editorial board of MIS Quarterly two belong to the University of Cologne. In January 2024, WiSo professor Stefan Seidel will be promoted from Associate Editor (October 2021 - December 2023) to #SeniorEditor. WiSo professor Markus Weinmann will become #AssociateEditor of MIS Quarterly.

Both the Associate Editor and the Senior Editor have many responsibilities. For example, the Associate Editor manages the review process and interacts with other reviewers as necessary. The Associate Editor and the Senior Editor work closely together. The Senior Editor is the final decision maker in reviewing submissions to MISQ. After considering the recommendations of the Associate Editors and the input of the reviewers, the Senior Editor decides which papers will be published, which papers will be returned for revision, and which papers will not be pursued further in the review cycle.

We congratulate Prof. Dr Stefan Seidel and Prof. Dr Markus Weinmann on their appointment and wish them every success in their new roles.
