The MKTBig15 ranking has introduced a per capita ranking that takes into account the number of teaching staff at each university. This new metric provides a better picture of faculty productivity in relation to individual marketing research areas. The data on faculty size was collected from online directories in April 2024. Among the 15 most productive marketing departments worldwide over the last 6 years, based on the Financial Times FT50 Marketing Journals, the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences is ranked 4th. Germany-wide, the faculty achieves the best ranking.
MKTBig15 is a new university ranking that assesses the research productivity of universities and authors based on the number (score) of articles published in top-tier marketing journals since 2018. MKTBig15 also shows a detailed overview of the research productivity of faculties at each university. In addition, the ranking includes a comprehensive set of marketing journals (e.g. JM, JMR, JCP, JAMS, IJRM ... ) that provide a more complete picture of research performance.
The Marketing Department of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne brings together research groups led by Professors Marc Fischer, Werner Reinartz, Franziska Völckner, Hernán Bruno and Thomas Scholdra - with research topics such as marketing mix optimisation, brand management, CRM, digital marketing, retailing, sales and advertising.
Students also have access to a wide range of courses. As part of the marketing degree programme, students learn about and apply methods and models for market-oriented corporate management, train and develop their acquired skills by carrying out marketing simulations, solving problems in teams and evaluating case studies. The main aim of the marketing programme is to provide students with an academically sound and practice-oriented marketing education to meet current social challenges in business, society and research, as well as excellent career prospects.
Congratulations on the outstanding ranking!
