Prof. Dr Daniel Wiesen is the new Professor for Health Management at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. On Tuesday, WiSo-Dean Ulrich Thonemann congratulated him on his appointment.
Daniel Wiesen has been Associate Professor for Behavioral Management Science at the WiSo Faculty since 2015. Among other things, he works in research and teaching at the Department of Business Administration and Health Care Management, where he is intensively working on questions at the interfaces of management, economics and medicine, from the perspective of health economics, behavioural economics and experimental economics, and in particular with regard to incentive systems and the behaviour of actors in the medical sector.
As in his earlier positions, including the University of Oslo and Boston University, interdisciplinary cooperation is a cornerstone of Daniel Wiesen's scientific work, which has produced some outstanding results, for example in the framework of the UoC Forum "Managerial Risk Factors in Medicine". The WiSo Key Research Initiative "Behavioral Management Science" will now also further benefit from Professor Wiesen's commitment in the future.
