34 students from The University of Cologne were among more than 860 students, from a graduating class of 1,285, taking part in the CEMS MIM graduation ceremony on Saturday 9th December at the London School of Economics, UK. Graduands from the 33 leading business schools around the world, spanning all inhabited continents, that belong to the CEMS Alliance travelled to London to take part in the CEMS Annual Events, which includes the Graduation Ceremony and celebrations.
One of the 34c UoC CEMS graduates was Nina Eickmeier: "CEMS in Cologne redefines Master Programs. It's more than academics; it's a vibrant community. The 4-semester program demands dedication but offers flexibility. I dove deep, joining clubs, and studying abroad. The curriculum broadened horizons, with group projects refining skills. The network expands organically, feeling like a global family. In this whirlwind of two years, I gained invaluable experiences, lifelong friends, and a completed Master's—with exceptional career prospects."
CEMS is a unique alliance of 33 of the world’s leading business schools, 70 multinational companies and 8 NGOs who together deliver the CEMS Masters in International Management. On graduation students must speak three languages (one of which is English), have studied at two member business schools and completed a business project with one of the corporate partners.
CEMS, which is celebrating its 35 anniversary this year, was founded to enable management education to contribute to the building of bridges across all borders and boundaries.
The 2023 Annual Events includes the adoption of the updated CEMS Vision. Inspired by the fundamental challenges faced by humanity in the 21st century, the CEMS Global Alliance is emphasizing its commitment to developing responsible leaders who pursue sustainable business solutions that benefit humanity and the planet we all share.
On behalf of CEMS Strategic Board, CEMS Chair, Professor Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics said: “CEMS has always valued the strength in difference. We cultivate leaders who are curious and capable of discernment, who have the mental and emotional strength to confront challenges with humility and integrity, who resolve to learn and understand deeply the complexities of our time. Our 35th anniversary is the ideal time to reaffirm our commitment to the idea that the leaders who will be best prepared for the future will be free and unafraid in an uncertain world, will be humane citizens who can engage fully and think independently, and will contribute to a more open, sustainable, and inclusive world.
“The objective of each CEMS member school is to cultivate and support broad-minded leaders who are free to ask questions and to interpret information using evidence, logic, and critical reasoning. CEMS thinkers are empowered to make decisions, master new technologies, and lead in a pluralistic world.
We congratulate all our 2023 graduates, applaud them for their outstanding achievement and welcome them into the CEMS community.”
