  • Since 2020 Member of the Council of Experts on Climate Change of the Federal Republic of Germany (Expertenrat für Klimafragen)
  • 2011 – 2013 Expert Member of the Enquête-Commission „Growth, Wealth, Quality of Life” („Wachstum, Wohlstand, Lebensqualität“) of the German Parliament (Deutscher Bundestag)
  • 2000 - 2007 Top-Management Consultant with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), last position: Partner and Vice President
  • 1995 - 2000 Researcher at the Universities of Bonn and Zurich, and management consultant with McKinsey & Company
  • 1997 Doctorate in Economics with a thesis on „Financial Innovation from a General Equilibrium Perspective.“
  • 1992/94/95 Degrees in Mathematics and Economics following studies in Bonn, Cambridge and Berkeley
