F.A.Z. Economists Ranking

The ranking is made up of various categories in which both the impact in the economy and in the public are taken into account. For example, part of the deciding factors for placement in the F.A.Z. ranking are whether an economist sets impulses that are then taken up by other researchers, whether his/her statements are heard by the general public and to what extent he/she can influence politics. The impact in social networks (especially Twitter) was also taken into account.

Current ranking

In the current ranking of Germany's most influential economists by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.), Prof. Dr. Matthias Sutter is ranked 42nd and Prof. Dr. Axel Ockenfels (WiSo-Key Research Initiative Behavioural Management Science) 50th. This makes them two of Germany's most influential economists.
