For visiting students of the WiSo Faculty

Each term, the International Relations Center at the WiSo Faculty (ZIB WiSo) and the PIM and CEMS Student and Alumni Club Cologne e.V. organise a Buddy Programme for guest students from the WiSo Faculty's partner universities. At the beginning of each term, ZIB WiSo looks for students and doctoral candidates interested in mentoring guest students for that term.

In fall we expect most of our incomings to arrive in Cologne in September.  

Benefits of the Buddy Programme:

• Meet students from all over the world

• Participate in a number of exciting, international social events
• Develop your language skills
• Demonstrate social commitment during your studies
• Receive first-hand information about partner universities as perfect preparation for your exchange term

For Students, PhD candidates and PostDocs of University of Cologne

The next Call for the EUniWell Abroad Fellowship is online. The fellowship offers students, doctoral candidates or PostDocs of the University of Cologne the opportunity for a short-term stay of up to three weeks at a EUniWell partner university. The fellowship is a networking opportunity within the consortium and promotes creative and challenging project ideas which align with EUniWell’s vision and contributes to Well-Being in our society and environment in a sustainable way. Interviews, surveys, literature research or laboratory work for research projects or theses, attendance or teaching in specialised courses or workshops or other activities and ideas - we support and fund the fellows and their projects, which should be in line with Well-Being and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The deadline for applications is 13 July 2023.

In  two weeks, the time has come: On 07th July 2023 at 5 pm, the Dialogue Night will take place at the WiSo Faculty of the University of Cologne under the title "The AI revolution: Are we ready for the future?". Here, representatives from business, politics and academia will meet ambitious students in a relaxed atmosphere to engage in exciting debates on the topic of AI, learn new things about it and network. There will be about 50 students and about 25 entrepreneurs, scientists and AI experts on site.

The event will start with an introductory talk, which will be followed by keynotes. Our speakers for the evening are Najat Messaoud (Microsoft), Thomas Jarzombek (Bundestag) and Johannes Naumann (DHL Express). The keynotes will be followed by a discussion where questions from the audience will be asked to shed light on the evening's topic from different angles.
After the discussion, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas in small groups at the World Café and get to know many other participants personally. At the end of the event, you can network with the other participants over dinner and drinks and let the evening come to a relaxed close. Please regard that the event will take place in German.
