Since 01.08.2023 together with WiSo-Dean Ulrich Thonemann we are pleased to welcome a new colleague at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. Prof. Dr Anne Burmeister has accepted the appointment to the Chair of Organisational Behaviour and will start her "service" at the WiSo Faculty in August. We are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr Anne Burmeister, an expert in the field of Organisational Behaviour who has already earned many merits in practice.
Professor Burmeister comes to the WiSo Faculty from the Rotterdam School of Management, where she was an Associate Professor in the field of Organisation & Personnel Management. She previously earned her doctorate in the field of work and organisational psychology at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, where she contributed a great deal to linking theory and practice, among other things as coordinator of the Leuphana Business Forum. With her doctoral thesis on knowledge transfer processes in the context of international assignments, she also later won the doctoral prize. Anne Burmeister's ability to look beyond the horizon of her own career is demonstrated not least by her involvement in the interdisciplinary and structurally independent Research Respect Group since her postdoctoral period at the University of Bern.
Anne Burmeister has built up a close connection to practice not least as a strategic consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Her extensive expertise in the areas of strategy, people and organisation are also reflected in her research focus on knowledge transfer processes and social interactions in the workplace. Her focus on ageing and age-mixed workforces places her at the centre of current developments in management strategies related to knowledge, diversity and organisation.
With Prof. Dr Anne Burmeister, we are also gaining a renowned scientist who can already look back on several publications in top journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Learning & Education and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. She is also an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology and Subject Matter Expert for the Aging Workforce and Future of Work at the Academy of Management.
We are very pleased to welcome such a versatile lecturer who has her finger on the pulse of the times. Welcome to WiSo!
