Developing e-cars, preventing natural disasters or preserving biodiversity: The fight against climate change is the subject of numerous branches of research. The new climate series of the ECONtribute Wirtschaftspodcast - wherever there are podcasts - reveals what contribution economics can make.

The first episode with Veronika Grimm, energy expert at the German Council of Economic Experts (Wirtschaftsweise) and WiSo alumna (she habilitated at the chair of Prof. Dr Axel Ockenfels in 2008) looks at the connections between climate, energy and hydrogen.

Without giving too much away, we are also looking forward to the second episode, which will include another highlight from the WiSo faculty's perspective. Carolin Jackermeier talks to WiSo professor Michael Bechtel, who recently showed in a study that the public is more willing to bear the costs of climate protection if other countries contribute, which means that international climate agreements also have a strong domestic political significance.

"ECONtribute - The Business Podcast"
In episodes of around 30 minutes, science journalist Carolin Jackermeier discusses the most exciting topics in ECONtribute research every month and provides insight into the work of the Cluster of Excellence. For instance, on sustainable consumption, energy transition, social norms, and climate protection.

All episodes are available in German.
