In a public meeting, the Broadcasting Board of WDR elected Prof. Dr. Claudia Loebbecke as a new member of the WDR Administrative Board. She has been a deputy member of the WDR Broadcasting Council since December 2016. Thus, WiSo Professor Loebbecke takes over the position of her predecessor Silke Gorißen. With the election to the Board of Directors, she resigned from the Broadcasting Council.
The current WDR Board of Directors was constituted in December 2019 for a term of office of five years. It consists of seven members selected by the Broadcasting Council and two other members appointed by the Staff Council according to the WDR Act.
The Board of Directors of the WDR is responsible for the management and has no part in the program decision. In addition, it plays a significant role in important personnel matters, approves the annual financial statements and among other activities, approves the annual report.
Prof. Loebbecke is Director of the Seminar for General Business Administration, Media and Technology Management at the WiSoFaculty.
