We are pleased to "welcome" Dr. Arno Apffelstaedt as Junior Professor for Organizational Behavior/Organizational Economics at the WiSo Faculty in March this year! On behalf of the entire Prof. Dr-. Marita Jacob, Vice Dean of Academic Career, "welcomed" Jun. Prof. Dr. Apffelstaedt, who has already been working at the Faculty since 2018 as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Corporate Development and Business Ethics. At the WiSo Faculty, he is also an Associated Member of the Cluster of Excellence "ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy".
He completed his doctorate in economics at the University of Hamburg. He spent part of his doctoral studies as a visiting doctoral student at the Berlin Doctoral Program of Economics and Management Science, as a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics and as a visiting scholar at Harvard University. He is a trained aeronautical engineer and, before switching to economics, worked as a research engineer at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
Professor Apfelstaedt's previous research focuses on behavioural economics, experimental economics, industrial organisation and political economy. He has published his work in renowned journals such as Management Science. Last year, he was a Fellow of the Hamburg Institute of Advanced Study (HIAS) for 4 months by invitation of the Academy of Sciences. We look forward to him continuing his successful work.
