University rankings play an important role in positioning the University of Cologne in the national and international context. In WirtschaftsWoche's economics ranking, Christopher Roth is the most research-intensive economist under the age of 40 in the German-speaking world who teaches and researches at a German university.
The WiSo Faculty comes in at first rank in Germany (# 5 worldwide) in the "International course experience rank” section of the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking. This ranking is calculated according to how many graduates have completed stays abroad and internships („exchanges and internships, lasting at least a month“).
In the AIS research ranking in the field of Information Systems, the UoC is ranked first in Germany and thrid in Europe.
In the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), sociology at the WiSo Faculty ranks second in Germany, alongside the University of Frankfurt and the University of Bamberg.
The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Journal List Ranking places the University of Cologne in second place in Germany in the analytical journal category.
The Deutscher Aktienindex (“DAX” for short) is a stock index that represents 40 of the most solvent German companies. The Univeristy of Cologne has educated six current board members from the DAX. This puts the University of Cologne in joint third place in Germany with the University of Regensburg (12. DAX Vorstandsreport).
