Since July 1, 2021, Prof Christopher Roth has strengthened the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute and thus followed the call to the Chair of Management and Economics. The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences warmly welcomes our new member.
Christopher Roth acquired his PhD in economics in 2018 at the University of Oxford. Until recently he worked as a junior professor at the University of Warwick. There, he researched at the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE) and is a Research Affiliate of the Institute on Behavior and Inequality (briq).
In the Cluster of Excellence, he will support the research area Behaviorial Foundations and thus forms an important basis for the development of economic models. His main focus here is on psychology and economics, political economy and macroeconomic expectations. In his exciting research to date, Prof Roth has dealt with concerns about the effects of immigration on the labour market, for example.
Prof Dr Matthias Heinz (spokesperson of the ECONtribute Cluster of Excellence) describes Roth's research as an "interface of economics, psychology, business administration and political science", which makes him not only a highly interdisciplinary researcher, but also an ideal new member of the cluster.
We wish him continued success in his research and once again a warm welcome to the WiSo Faculty.
