PhD As Your Career Option
In collaboration with the Cologne Graduate School (CGS), we warmly invite all interested students to “Career Tuesday – PhD As Your Career Option”. The event focuses on PhD studies and embarking on an academic career.
What does it actually mean to do a PhD, and is an academic career the right path for me? The event provides a realistic insight into doctoral studies and highlights the opportunities, challenges and prospects associated with this career path.
We will present doctoral opportunities at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and explain how to structure your path towards a PhD. At the same time, we will provide an insight into the faculty’s diverse research landscape and introduce current research topics and areas of focus.,In addition, participants will receive specific information on the requirements for a PhD, the application process and various entry routes. The question of how a PhD can be funded will also be addressed.
Furthermore, Shreya Raithatha, a PhD candidate at the University of Cologne specialising in entrepreneurship, innovation and the use of AI in technology research and commercialisation, will outline her journey towards her PhD. She brings with her around ten years’ international practical experience in start-ups, green tech, corporate innovation, investment banking and M&A.
The event is aimed at all students who are interested in pursuing a PhD or who would like to gain an overview of this career path.
