Spot on WiSo Alumni: An oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city

How four WiSo graduates started a cocktail bar.

What are the benefits of studying at the WiSo-Faculty? Surely everyone has to answer this question himself.  The CVs of our graduates are as diverse as their studies. In our new category "Spot on WiSo-Alumni" we present some of our WiSo-Alumni in captivating portraits.

Our first portrait revolves around the team of the Cologne cocktail bar Woods. The four owners Thilo Heyer, Matthias Gerber, Marc Lehmann and Simon Bach got to know each other through their studies at the WiSo Faculty before they decided to open the bar last year. In developing the concept, all four together found a clear basic direction. The bar should be cosy, the guests should find themselves in a pleasant atmosphere and the work of all should be characterised by individual advice in the selection of cocktails and a closeness to the guests.

It may not come as a surprise, that the four founders have also thought things through in the corona crisis. Every Friday, for example, Instagram users can watch the "Woods ON AIR" livestream, or use the specially created cocktail boxes to bring the offerings of Woods directly into their living rooms.
