New Part-Time Master’s in Business Analytics & AI Launching in October 2026

From October 2026, the University of Cologne Business School within the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences will expand its academic portfolio with a new part-time Master’s programme: Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (M.Sc.). The English-taught programme responds to the growing importance of data-driven business models and Artificial Intelligence for organisations and industries worldwide.

In recent years, Artificial Intelligence has evolved from an emerging technology into a key competitive factor. Companies are no longer using AI solely to automate routine tasks; it is increasingly applied to enhance decision-making processes, optimise business models and develop innovative products and services. Sustainable competitive advantage is achieved particularly where technological expertise is systematically combined with sound business knowledge.

Against this backdrop, the new 18-month part-time Master’s programme provides in-depth expertise in Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, closely integrated with strategic and organisational perspectives. Participants will learn to make data-driven decisions, critically assess AI applications and actively shape their responsible implementation within organisational contexts.

The programme is designed for working professionals as well as specialist and managerial staff seeking to advance their careers in an increasingly data-driven economy. Graduates will be awarded the internationally recognised Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree and will be well prepared for key roles in AI strategy, data analytics, innovation and digital transformation.

The programme is currently undergoing the accreditation process.
