Information of the WiSo Faculty Library Service regarding COVID19

Partial access for lending and return

From Monday, May 4th, 2020 books can be borrowed and returned in four libraries of the WiSo Faculty, subject to the rules for visitors.

The reading rooms of the libraries and access to the open access areas will remain closed!

Rules for visitors

In order to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, all visitors must abide by the following rules:

  • Prepare your visit to the library and get information on the homepage and in the catalogue:

    • For borrowing: In advance, write an e-mail to the library (address see below) with your borrowing requests. We will prepare the books for you and give you a date for picking them up.
    • For returning the books: Write an e-mail (see below) with the date you would like to come to the library, we will give you a date when you can return the books.

  • According to the Corona Protection Ordinance (§ 4 Libraries) we are obliged to register your contact details.
  • You are only allowed to enter the library with a mouth and nose protector.
  • Please come alone.
  • Please stay in the building only as long as necessary.
  • Please always keep a distance of 2 meters to all persons.
  • Please observe the general hygiene regulations.

Services of UCL in the Corona crisis

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of all libraries at the University of Cologne is still very limited. All those responsible are constantly developing new solutions to gradually improve the situation for students, teachers and researchers.
